Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 June 2026
This is our privacy notice. It explains, in plain terms, what personal details we collect when you get in touch or place an order with Binge Bakes, why we use them and the rights you have. It is our privacy notice rather than legal advice.
Who we are
Binge Bakes is a small home bakery run by Anna Binge in East Grinstead, West Sussex. We are the data controller for the personal details you share with us through this website. If you have any questions about your data, please email us at anna.binge@outlook.com.
What we collect
We only ask for the details we need to help you. The exact information depends on which form you use.
If you send a cake enquiry, we collect:
- your name, email address and phone number;
- the occasion, your preferred date, how many servings you need, your preferred flavour and any design notes;
- an optional inspiration link, such as a Pinterest board or pin, if you choose to add one.
If you place a shop order, we collect:
- your name, email address and phone number;
- the items in your basket, your chosen collection date and time, and your chosen payment method (cash on collection or bank transfer).
Why we use it and our lawful basis
Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your personal details. Ours are as follows.
- Orders: to process and fulfil your order. Our lawful basis is performance of a contract with you (Article 6(1)(b)).
- Enquiries: to reply and prepare a quote. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interests in responding to you (Article 6(1)(b) and (f)).
- Confirmation emails: to keep you informed about your enquiry or order.
- Anti-spam: we use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell humans from bots. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the site (Article 6(1)(f)).
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data and we never share it for third-party marketing. We only share it with the service providers who help us run the site and deliver email. The form sends your details to a function hosted on Cloudflare, which emails your enquiry or order to us and sends you a confirmation. Cloudflare provides our hosting, email delivery and Turnstile anti-spam.
How long we keep it
We keep your details only as long as we need them to handle your enquiry or order and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. After that, we delete them.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal details we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
- ask us to erase your details;
- ask us to restrict how we use them;
- object to our use of them; and
- ask for a copy of them in a portable format.
To exercise any of these, just email us at anna.binge@outlook.com and we will help. If you are not happy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
This site does not use tracking or advertising cookies. Cloudflare Turnstile may set a token to help tell humans from bots, which keeps our forms safe from spam.
